To me the teaser seems so sad. I feel for her and don't want to answer the question.

I've been debating adding this book to my list, would you say the teaser fairly well catches the tone of the book?
It's really hard to say, but I guess both the cicumstances are sad!

Wow, a book with a character named Joy! I think that may be a first for me – my name doesn't usually appeal to authors, for some reason. And it sounds like a pretty good read, too. I might have to check this one out. Nice teaser!

My parents split up and mom got custody of me at 18 mos. I didn't see my dad until 2007, and he died July 15th 2008. I knew him a year before I lost him again.
I think this story is one I'm not ready for.
