The Sunday Salon 11 April

The Sunday Salon.com

It has been an extremely busy week, with the boys being on Spring Break, helping our neighbours find a suitable apartment, and looking at colleges and universities. I am hoping this week will bring me more time to read. I have tried to gain more time with the
Clear Away the Clutter Read-A-Thon as well as the 24-Hour Read-A-Thon. Naturally life got in the way of my plans, and I am hoping for more time to read this week, however with my neighbour having back surgery and their upcoming move, it is not looking as though this week will be a stellar one for reading.

Happy, Happy Easter!

Today will be filled with spending quality time as a family, working in the yard, and helping our neighours clear out a home in preparation for their move. I shall be reading while the outdoor work is being done, everything is in full bloom and so are my allergies.

This week is Spring break for my guys and DH and our oldest will spend it visiting colleges.

I also signed up for the 12×12 Challenge for April.

It seems like just yesterday I was trying to decide which college suited me best and now I find myself helping my oldest son on his college search. How did the decades pass me without my knowing? I keep saying it, yet it is the truth, life is too short. Enjoy the moment you are in, do not worry about the past, leave it behind where it belongs. While you are at it, stop fretting about the future, doing so robs you of the joys of the moment, I learned that one the difficult way.

If anyone has any suggestions for small colleges/universities in the Midwest/East (IN, OH, MI, PA, NY, VA), I would be interested in learning about them, since I did not grow up in this area.

This past week consisted of very little sleep or reading time for me. My dear friend passed away Saturday morning. I do not even want to think of the work that needs to be done in the next few days. I just want to sleep, selfish, I know.

The Sunday Salon Valentine’s Day

The Sunday Salon.com

I would like to wish everyone a very happy Valentine’s Day!

This past week was most definitely not a good one for me. I am still recovering and getting frightfully behind on reading. I am quite literally reading as much as my health, time, and family permits. So far I am not behind, however beginning Sunday week, I will have numerous reviews due in the span of one week. This would not have been a problem if there had not been a death, a hospitalisation, and an illness. I am more than a wee bit stressed. I shall focus on this week first. I needed a good whinge so thank you to anyone who read this. I feel a little better now.

This past week one spotlight and four reviews went up:

The beginning of February brought with it a fair deal of pain, rendering me unable to read as much as I had hoped. However, this week did end with a delightful and much anticipated snow storm, so I cannot complain.

EDIT: Due to a death in the family I do not think I will be getting much reading done this week.
