Life: I cannot complain, my family is healthy, everything is green and blooming, and the weather has been lovely.

Family Update: This week went by so very quickly! My twins spent a little over a week in Florida, so it was wonderful to see them again. They came back nice and tan. The school year is getting very hectic and my schedule for all the events and activities in May overwhelms me.

Saturday Night: Family movie night. We ordered pizza and loaded up on DVDs from the library and had a delightful evening/night.

Read and Reviewed: The books I read and reviewed are all from the read-a-thon, I was unable to read most of the week. Thankfully I was able to pre-schedule all 8 book review posts.

Today I will be reading: This Life Is Yours by Melissa Coleman

Happy Reading and please feel free to leave comments or suggestions.

One knows the week is not going well when one is behind on Monday!

I would like to wish all my readers a very happy Monday. I am not feeling overly jovial today; actually the mere act of typing is excruciatingly painful, as is all sound, light, and sadly written words (in fairness, spoken words are painful as well). My proposed reading schedule this week was something I could have accomplished, and filled with books I was looking forward to reading and as I type this I realise it will be impossibility to read them all this week. I have heard it said that all things are possible, and to an extent I agree, however being 2 books behind and it is only Monday does not bode well. My aura (not the new-age sort) rather the “it probably is a migraine of such an intensity it will require IV treatment or another stroke”, both require a trip to the ER. Coupled with the usual mundane complaints of being nauseated, having both photophobia and phonophobia are just three more indicators that I shall slip further behind in my plans for the week. I always thought if I could put how I feel into words it would help others understand, yet I cannot describe the pain, there simply are no words. For those who have this sort know exactly what I am referring to and know there is no actual relief for me, just a lessening of pain with time, time I needed this week for other activities. For those who cannot fathom it, consider yourselves extremely fortunate, my husband falls into this category, in 42 years he has never had a headache, something I cannot fathom and if I am honest, I am quite jealous.

My point? It is Monday and I am woefully behind. If history is any indicator, it could be a good 72 hours before I can read. Fortunately I had today’sIt’s Monday What Are you Reading? queued as well as tomorrow’s Teaser Tuesday, but alas no reviews, I am learning optimism does not get me far. I am not writing for pity or sympathy, for this is my life and at the moment I do not like the pain, I accept it is they way my brain works. I am merely writing to let readers know why I may not comment straightaway or make my usual rounds on It’s Monday What Are You Reading? and Teaser Tuesday (the two meme’s I adore). I am here, but not here. I may be in hospital I may not (yes computers are allowed in-yet not in neurology for my complaint). I have a call in to my husband and time will tell. As my head allows, I will approve comments, visit blogs, and comment myself. I do not think my aphasia has slipped in yet, although I could read this post days from now only to become horrified. My goal for this week is to getting well enough to read. I have a couple of tours at the end of the week and I do not plan to miss my deadlines.

It is days like this I realise it would be excellent to have some sort of migraine graphic, then words would not be needed. Obviously, I do not have a clever graphic.

I hope everyone reading this is doing well, enjoying the fine weather (I have the air-conditioning on) and having a lovely Monday. I will be around commenting as soon as I am able.

Life: Cooler weather has finally arrived, the leaves are magnificent colours of Autumn and it has been a wonderful week.

Family Update: All is well.  Friday the boys were off school and we spent the day sleeping in, goofing off, shopping, and an early night of popcorn and movies.

Saturday Night: It was the last Cabaret night my oldest will sing in, so the evening was bitter sweet.  He sang Hurt more toward the Johnny Cash version, since my son sings bass, and he did a lovely job.  It was a truly delightful family filled evening.  There are so many talented teens at the school.

Book News: I took two days off and had a brilliant time!

Read and Reviewed: It was a fairly good reading week for me some books were not what I hoped and others proved far better than I expected.  I managed to read and review 12 books which totaled 4,355 pages.

If you do not want to wait until Monday to see the entire list for the week, all my reviews are up and as usual I love comments.

Today I will be reading: Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine. (I did not get it finished due to family time.)

Happy Reading and please feel free to leave comments or suggestions.

Life: This past week was filled with the wonderful festivities of BBAW (Book Blogger Appreciation Week) and I enjoyed finding new book review blogs and meeting the new people who visited here.

Family Update: I have had better weeks, but I did manage to get out to attend Dinner & Theatre to see the last performance of the first play of the season.   My family is doing well.  They are all quite busy and rarely home which makes the time we spend together all the more enjoyable.  We are all looking forward to cooler weather.

Saturday Night: Due to pain,  I spent the day and night in bed with heat and ice on my head.  Glamorous image right?

Book News: Have you signed up for the Dewey’s Read-a-Thon which beings 9 October 2010?

Read and Reviewed: With this past week being BBAW I only managed to read and review 8 books which totaled 2,820 pages.

Do not want to wait until Monday to see the entire list? All my reviews are up and as usual I love comments.

Today I will be reading: Sadly light, sound and words cause pain, so I probably will take the off from reading.

Happy Reading and please feel free to leave comments or suggestions.

Life: August has been an intensely emotional month and I am hoping as the month comes to a close, things begin to settle down.  I prefer a more mundane existence in hopes of achieving this I have been reading about different academic departments at the Universities and Colleges my son is applying to.  to add to my joy (sarcasm) I have been proof-reading numerous college entrance essays and I have learned my oldest does not handle criticism well.

Family Update: School resumed last week and I have been trying to adjust my sleep schedule and my day schedule around.  When the boys were young I looked forward to the peace and quiet the school hours afforded me, now I am more saddened, my teens will be leaving the nest all too soon and I find I long for our summer days.  My sons are doing very well and amongst the three of them they are learning four languages, two are cross country runners and one has the first theatre production of the season opening in three weeks.  DH is up for full professor, so his days are filled with research, teaching and publishing.  Needless to say, there are very few dull moments around our home.

Saturday Night: Terry came over and we watched movies.  All of us needed down time and the much needed a break was perfectly timed and lovely.

Book News: I signed up for the Dewey’s Read-a-Thon which beings 9 October 2010.  Have you signed up?

Read and Reviewed: I managed to read and review 11 books which only totaled 3,296 pages.   I truly had hoped to get more accomplished, but it was a hectic week.

Do not want to wait until Monday to see the entire list? All my reviews are up and as usual I love comments.

Today I will be reading: I shall continue with The Diaries of Sofia Tolstoy Translated by Cathy Porter. This is another tome, which I cannot wait to slowly devour. I am certain I shall be sharing bits of the novel with readers throughout the coming weeks.

Happy Reading and please feel free to leave comments or suggestions.
