Deb has information up about John’s Memorial. I wanted to share the link with those of you here who have been sending loving thoughts, well wishes, concern, and prayers. I appreciate each and every one of you and on behalf of Deb and her family, I thank each of you and ask for your continued prayers.
John’s Memorial Please take a moment to extent a kind word or two to Deb. This is a long and difficult road for her, her son Zachary, her mother (just mom), and the kid who gets all the good food-yes, I mentioned you (and protected your identity)! My love to you all!!
I would like to thank everyone who offered their prayers for my friend’s husband. Sadly, John passed away Tuesday evening. He was surrounded by his family, which he loved dearly. I would like to ask my dear readers to please keep John’s family in your prayers. I keep going through a series of emotions and it is not quite sinking in yet that I will not get to hear his voice again. I want to help my friend Deb and I do not know how. I imagine as time passes it will become clearer, but right now I wish I could hold her, let her know how very much she is loved. I would tell her all the times John bragged (and this is not a bad term, for he was very proud of his family!) about her and Zachary. John was a guy it was impossible not to love. He lived life fully and for his family. There is nothing he would not do for them. He was a loving devoted husband and father and he will be missed, yet never forgotten.
After I learned of John’s passing I called my sons home and we sat, looking up at John’s bird house (he bought the boys a bird house and we could not get any bird interested in moving in. I do not know why, but after all this time, we finally have a full bird house) and talked about John, the memories of John we carry within us. I recall the day when I had to inform my children that John was not their uncle. Somewhere, somehow throughout the years my children got the idea that the Uncle John they had been sending cards to was Deb’s husband. Yes, John did have that large an impact on those he met.
Please continue to hold Deb and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
I am in a state of limbo at the moment and I thank all of my wonderful readers for sticking with me, as I am not posting my usual posts. My best friend’s husband is still in hospital and there is talk about moving him to a larger facility for more in depth neurological testing. While I personally think this is wonderful news, I know it is tearing my dear friend apart even more. It means a much longer commute for not only her, but her mother, son and her son’s friend (all of whom are very sleep deprived). I would like to thank everyone who has prayed, offered positive thoughts and well wishes to my dear friend John, his wife Debbie, and their son Zachary. I humbly ask for everyone to continue to hold them in your thoughts and prayers. I cannot convey in mere words how much these acts mean to Deb right now.
I would like to share with everyone my absolute delight with ordering flowers through 1-800-FLOWERS. I do not work for the company nor does anyone else I know, rather I am a just a satisfied customer. I place my order with them online and in slightly over 1 hour the flowers were in John’s hospital room.
I had a lovely birthday, well as lovely as one can be when one’s best friend is going through such a dreadful time. Thank you all the the beautiful birthday wishes they mean a lot to me. I have been very blessed with wonderful friends in my life and I do not say that lightly.
One of my dear friends, Jennifer (Speedy to some) has begun a second blog and I highly recommend checking it out as well as leaving a recipe. You can find Jennifer’s new site at The Speedy Gourmet and of course her completely awesome blog Eighty MPH Mom, where she is currently having a Summer Bash with fantastic giveaways! I have not had the time/energy to enter any contests, but hers are not to be missed.
Again, I want to thank each of you on behalf of my friend Deb and her family for the prayers, positive thoughts, and well wishes. The days are more like roller coaster rides and yet we are not giving up hope. She has not had a lot of time or energy to blog about what is happening, but some updates can be found at her blog, From A Creative Heart.
