Life:  It is already September and the temperature has yet to cool off.  I am anticipating the arrival of autumn, for soon it means my favourite season-winter-will be here.  I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.

Family Update: I am keeping this short and sweet as my son will be home for the weekend and I am busy scheduling posts so as not to be online while my son is home.  This past week was terrible for me as far as my pain level was concerned, but my family is healthy and that is what matters.

Saturday Night: As I mentioned my oldest will be home for the weekend.  I do not know what he has planned for us as a family, but I can make an educated guess that it will involve takeaway and movie night. :)

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read  8 books and reviewed 7 of them. If you have time, please take a look at my reviews, I have a diverse selection of books.

Today I will be reading:   Absolutely nothing.  My son is home from University and the day is all his.

Happy Reading and have a wonderful Sunday.

Life:  I know I have mentioned this on several occasions, but as I am facing a new chapter in my life it seems an appropriate reminder to all, life goes by far too quickly, savour every moment.  I miss my son, who is away at University and count the days until he is home for break.  I miss the sound of the twins during the day as they have returned to school and I miss our 4 day weekends now that DH was able to make possible over the last half of the summer.  Poof, everything changes in the blink of an eye.

Family Update:  My oldest son is adjusting to University life and the demands of a heavy class load and a part time job.  Twin A is busy with school and the hours spent after school working on the set for the autumn musical.  Twin B  has his first week of work behind him and so far enjoys being employed part-time at the library…now he needs to figure out how to study around his work hours.  DH is once again busy with the new quarter beginning at University and I am once again finding the house too quiet (however the cat loves it).  Currently I am attempting to balance reading time and knitting time.  I have several sweaters to knit up before Christmas and shelves of books to read.  I could listen to books on tape while knitting, but I do so want to re-watch all of British mystery series while knitting.  I am just finishing up Foyle’s War.  :)

Saturday Night: Movie night was quite eclectic as we watched a series of foreign films, played games and just enjoyed being together.

Read and Reviewed:  This past week I read and reviewed 8 books, spotlighted 1 book and had a guest author blog post (I am looking forward to reading her book).  If you have time, please take a look at my reviews, I have a diverse selection of books.

Today I will be reading: Snapped by Laura Griffin

Life:  The weather has been fairly decent, but I find myself looking forward to holidays much more now than I ever did.  I cannot wait for all of us to be together again.  Time is so very relative.  I cannot complain, even though I would like to, I do not need too.  My sons and my husband are healthy and happy and I could not ask for more.

Family Update: Earlier in the week we took our oldest to University, needless to say this has been a rather difficult week not only on me, but also my son as he becomes accustom to University life.  Twin A  continues to be busy working every day of the Autumn Musical set and Twin B began his first job.  DH is doing well and I am as god as can be expected.

Saturday Night:  This was the first weekend with my oldest son off at University.  It was odd not having him with us as we watched the marathon trilogy of Lord of the Rings.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 8 books, spotlighted 1 book and had a guest author blog post. If you have time, please take a look at my reviews, I have a diverse selection of books.

Life:  When my children were young I imagined all I would be able to do when they went off to University and now as it is my turn to let my children go I find I am woefully under-prepared.  My son is ready, however I am not.  This time in my life is bittersweet.  I am extremely happy for my son, all he has accomplished and know he is looking toward his future with immense joy.  I do recall when I went off to college decades ago.  I want the best for him, but the other side of me still sees him as my baby boy who needs to be protected.  The next few weeks will be much different and a learning exp[erience for myself and my son.

Family Update: Everyone is relatively healthy, oldest met his roommates and cannot wait to move to University. Twin A has been busy set building for the autumn musical. Twin B was offered a job at our local library (yay!). And DH is going up for Chair of his department at the University he works at (wish him luck, please).

Saturday Night: This was the last Saturday we have together as a family and we made the most out of it.  I am trying not to think about how this time next week my oldest will be at University.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 8 books. If you have time, please take a look at the reviews, one never knows when they will find a treasure.

Today I will be reading:  I doubt I shall have time to read as I will be frantically pulling together all the last minute items my son need for University.

Happy Reading and have a wonderful Sunday.

Life: Time is going by too quickly, but thankfully the heatwave has left.  I have been trying to balance family time, reading, knitting, and getting everyone ready for school to begin without spending too much time worrying about my oldest heading off to University.

Family Update:  School begins all too soon for my boys. On the upside, I will be able to read more per week, on the downside, I will really miss my oldest not being home.  We are trying to enjoy the last few weeks we have together before school begins.  As I mentioned above I have been knitting, it was time to start my Christmas knitting, so far so good.

Saturday Night: We spent the evening watching MST3K (oldest son’s pick), laughing, and enjoying our time together.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 7 books. If you have time, please take a look at the reviews, one never knows when they will find a treasure.

Life: I know I have mentioned the heat the past two Sundays, but it really is hot.  I am hoping there will be a break in the weather soon. This past week was a very bad week for me, but the pain is lessening to more tolerable levels, for which I am grateful. I cannot believe it is already the last day of July, where has the time gone?   I am not ready to have one of my children leave the nest.

Family Update: We had a great visit with my husband’s parents and have almost finished back to school shopping as well as getting everything ready for our oldest son to head off to college.  Time has gone by so very quickly, it seems like only yesterday I was getting him ready for Kindergarten.  All too soon we shall be moving our son into his dorm, so for the next few weeks I will be focusing almost all my energy on family (the boys may not enjoy so much parent time) but DH and I need it.

Saturday Night: With only 3 Saturdays left before we take our oldest son to college, we spent the evening watching movies of his choosing.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 8 books. If you have time, please take a look at the reviews, one never knows when they will find a treasure.

Today I will be reading: The Homecoming of Samuel Lake by Jenny Wingfield

Life: Last week I mentioned how hot it was outside, the same holds true to this date.  This summer has been quite intolerable and I do hope there is some relief in sight.

Family Update: The family is well and as I type this we are preparing for my in-laws arrival. The weekend will be spent with my in-laws, a visit we eagerly look forward to as we only see them once a year.

Saturday Night: I am going to assume we will be ordering out as it is too hot to cook and then we will play games until everyone is too tired to see straight.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read 7 books, but reviewed only 6 as I did not care for one of the books. If you have time, please take a look at the reviews, one never knows when they will find a treasure.

Today I will be reading:  Due to out of town company, I shall be conversing with my company rather than having my nose in a book.  Should there be time in the evening I will most likely be reading Reign of Madness by Lynn Cullen.

Happy Reading and have a wonderful Sunday.

Life:  Good grief it is hot outside.  Summers are typically hot and humid here, but this summer has been exceptionally hot, humid, and we could really use some rain.  Otherwise life is good.

Family Update:  Everyone is gearing up for the upcoming school year.   The twins have already began activities that will be in full force when school starts and we just purchased our oldest son’s books for his first semester of college.  I was thrilled to see a book by Solzhenitsyn on his list.  School shopping has started.

Saturday Night: Saturday was a high pain day for me, but my family kept me comfortable and company watching DVDs to help keep my mind off the pain.  I was just grateful to be with my guys for the entire day and evening.  We had a Miss Marple (Joan Hickson) marathon.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 7 books.   If you have time, please take a look at the reviews, one never knows when they will find a treasure.

Today I will be reading: The Beginners by Rebecca Wolff (yes, I am still trying to get a chance to read this book.)

Life:  My blog is back, new and improved! :)   The previous week was a nightmare and I have three exceptional women to thank for getting me back up and running.  I was unable to get as many reviews as I had hoped to up, but my blog and the security of my blog took precedent.

Family Update:  My family is fantastic!  We are all well and we are enjoy the few weeks we have left together before the oldest heads off to college (6 weeks away, not that I am counting).

Saturday Night: After all that has happened I really needed a break so we did nothing but watch DVDs and play games.  It was too nasty to be outside and my guys were thinking a lazy day sounded perfect.  It was delightful!

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read  6 books but only reviewed 5 books as the fifth book was not to my liking.   If you have time, please take a look at the reviews.

Life: I cannot believe June is almost over, where did it go and why do I not feel relieved? This past week has been a roller-coaster ride (I do not care for roller-coasters).  Father’s Day was delightful and relaxing then I was unfortunately in significant pain for a large portion of the week.  Things began looking up when my son managed to secure a campus job (thank goodness) and then I learned a dear friend’s father passed away rather unexpectedly and my heart broke for her and her family.  The week concluded with family time.  Life really is too short.

Family Update: My family is doing well, my husband’s promotion is official and our oldest secured a campus job, which he will begin the week after he moves into his dorm.  The twins are well, the cat is content and I could not ask for more out of life.

Saturday Night: After a week of pain and  we held a delayed celebration of my husband’s promotion and our oldest son obtaining a college job.  After our BBQ feast we watched DVDs, we were all in the mood for a long movie marathon, movie junk food included.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 6 books, if you have time do take a look.  Limiting my reading worked well this past week and is a trend I plan to follow during this hectic summer.

Today I will be reading: Down from Cascom Mountain by Ann Joslin Williams
