Life: I had a dreadful week of pain and I am trying to let my brain heal and overcome a cold before Christmas!  I have been counting down the days until Christmas Eve, I am worse than a child.  Christmas is my all time favourite holiday!!

Family Update: Everyone is home for Christmas break so we will be having a lot of lazy days filled with family silliness, sledding (we actually have snow!), goofing off and avoiding the stores as we are all done shopping, wrapping, and mailing of gifts.

Saturday Night: We bought Christmas treats (we learned from last week’s baking session) and watched old Christmas movies and had a lovely time together while I secretly hoped they would not catch whatever virus I have.

Read and Reviewed: I managed to read 8 books  which was more than I thought I would be able to pull off during this hectic season!  I read some absolutely fabulous books, take a look, there are many that would be lovely gifts.  This week is far lighter as I have no intention of being online over Christmas.

If you do not want to wait until Monday to see the entire list for the week, all my reviews are up and as usual I love comments.

Today I will be reading: The Green Age of Asher Witherow by M. Allen Cunningham. Is anyone else noticing this book has been here for weeks?  It is not that I do not want to read it, just the opposite, I have been itching to read it!   Previous obligations have prevented me from reading some books that I cannot wait to devour.  I am implementing new policies in 2011 to avoid this problem.

Happy Reading and please feel free to leave comments or suggestions.

Life: I am truly enjoying this time of year and all the lovely lights, concerts, events, and parties!   My gifts should have been received by my partners for the Book-lovers Secret Santa Swap and the Book Blogger Holiday Swap.

I received a wonderful swap package, but do not know how to reach Christina, who sent sent me a lovely Snowman “joy” ornament, a beautiful bookmark, and The Faceless Killers by Henning Mankell.  I am truly thankful so I hope Christina is seeing this message.

Family Update: We spent Friday afternoon/evening roaming in and out of bookstores and of course making a lot of bookish purchases.  Friday night we unloaded the car of our bookish goodies and then watched A Christmas Story.  We will spend the rest of the weekend wrapping, baking, and watching old Christmas DVDs.

Saturday Night: The gifts are wrapped, every last package and card has been mailed, cookies have been baked and we are taking a well deserved break to watch old Christmas DVDs and eat Christmas cookies with hot cocoa, stayed up very late and just enjoyed being together this Christmas season.

Read and Reviewed: Somehow I managed once again to read  12 books during this hectic season!   I reviewed 10 of those books and chose to spotlight the 2 books that were just not genres I enjoy reading.   I read some absolutely fabulous books, take a look, there are many that would be lovely gifts.

If you do not want to wait until Monday to see the entire list for the week, all my reviews are up and as usual I love comments.

Today I will be reading: The Green Age of Asher Witherow by M. Allen Cunningham.  I am still trying to get to this book.  Tis’ the Season to be busy!

I Had Planned To Post A Review….

…then decided Friday afternoon was the perfect time for going out to bookstores (three to be exact) with my family and once out we stayed out too late for me to read and write a proper review. I had a brilliant time and yes, many books were purchased. When we realised it is only two weeks before Christmas we quickly decided that we would spend the day together goofing off, wrapping presents and possibly attempting to bake, although I am nothing short of a disaster in the kitchen.

Life: We have SNOW!  We usually do not see snow this early and I am so excited!  More and more Christmas lights are going up in the neighbourhoods and we are having great fun getting into the Christmas spirit.  My gifts should have been received by my partners for the Book-lovers Secret Santa Swap and the Book Blogger Holiday Swap.    I need to shop for them both as well as my family.

Family Update: We are all ready for the holidays.  The house is decorated inside and out and looks quite festive.  One month out of the year I listen to the radio when it plays Christmas music 24/7.   Christmas is my favourite holiday.   The gifts are purchased and either wrapped or on the way and all we have left to do is enjoy this wonderous season and purchase stocking stuffers.   The winter dance is Saturday and I know at least one of my three sons is attending.

Saturday Night: We completed our Christmas shopping and enjoyed the sales and had a lovely low stress  shopping experience.   We do buy a lot of gifts on-line, yet some had to be purchased in stores.  We found everyone to be rather friendly.  We finished up with a drive around looking at Christmas lights then back home to watch Christmas themed movies.

Read and Reviewed: Somehow I managed to read and review 11 books which surprises me as the week was so very busy, although the social calender does not really get moving until this coming week.  I read some absolutely fabulous books, take a look, there are many that would be lovely gifts.

If you do not want to wait until Monday to see the entire list for the week, all my reviews are up and as usual I love comments.

Today I will be reading: The Green Age of Asher Witherow by M. Allen Cunningham .  Although I may just take the day off and play in the snow with the guys.

Life: I am officially excited for the Christmas season.  Our tree is a Fraser Fir and rather large this year and smells divine. It would be nice if there was snow, but that is okay, I am enjoying seeing all the Christmas lights going up in the neighbourhood.  I am looking forward to participating in the Book-lovers Secret Santa Swap and the Book Blogger Holiday Swap.  I need to shop for them both as well as my family.

Family Update: We had a lovely holiday beginning Tuesday evening and will go through Sunday.  On Black Friday my one twin was involved with a theatre workshop, which allowed parents to drop off their younger children for a fun day and allowed the parents time to shop.  The rest of us also volunteered to help and we had a wonderful day followed up with leftovers, a much deserved nap and family movie night.

Saturday Night: We spent the entire day getting the house and yard ready to decorate for Christmas and will finish tomorrow as we took a few too many breaks and decided to watch The Girl Who Played With Fire (some scenes were not appropriate for younger eyes and were screened) which was as wonderful as the first movie (we adore foreign films).

Read and Reviewed: I managed to read, review and spotlight  9 books, there were some excellent selections and a few I think would make brilliant holiday gifts.

If you do not want to wait until Monday to see the entire list for the week, all my reviews are up and as usual I love comments.

Today I will be reading: Cleopatra by Stacy Schiff, if I get time. I am uncertain if I will get to read as we have to complete decorating for Christmas.

Happy Reading and please feel free to leave comments or suggestions.
