Life: I know I have mentioned the heat the past two Sundays, but it really is hot.  I am hoping there will be a break in the weather soon. This past week was a very bad week for me, but the pain is lessening to more tolerable levels, for which I am grateful. I cannot believe it is already the last day of July, where has the time gone?   I am not ready to have one of my children leave the nest.

Family Update: We had a great visit with my husband’s parents and have almost finished back to school shopping as well as getting everything ready for our oldest son to head off to college.  Time has gone by so very quickly, it seems like only yesterday I was getting him ready for Kindergarten.  All too soon we shall be moving our son into his dorm, so for the next few weeks I will be focusing almost all my energy on family (the boys may not enjoy so much parent time) but DH and I need it.

Saturday Night: With only 3 Saturdays left before we take our oldest son to college, we spent the evening watching movies of his choosing.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 8 books. If you have time, please take a look at the reviews, one never knows when they will find a treasure.

Today I will be reading: The Homecoming of Samuel Lake by Jenny Wingfield

Happy Reading and have a wonderful Sunday.

Life: Last week I mentioned how hot it was outside, the same holds true to this date.  This summer has been quite intolerable and I do hope there is some relief in sight.

Family Update: The family is well and as I type this we are preparing for my in-laws arrival. The weekend will be spent with my in-laws, a visit we eagerly look forward to as we only see them once a year.

Saturday Night: I am going to assume we will be ordering out as it is too hot to cook and then we will play games until everyone is too tired to see straight.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read 7 books, but reviewed only 6 as I did not care for one of the books. If you have time, please take a look at the reviews, one never knows when they will find a treasure.

Today I will be reading:  Due to out of town company, I shall be conversing with my company rather than having my nose in a book.  Should there be time in the evening I will most likely be reading Reign of Madness by Lynn Cullen.

Happy Reading and have a wonderful Sunday.

Life:  Good grief it is hot outside.  Summers are typically hot and humid here, but this summer has been exceptionally hot, humid, and we could really use some rain.  Otherwise life is good.

Family Update:  Everyone is gearing up for the upcoming school year.   The twins have already began activities that will be in full force when school starts and we just purchased our oldest son’s books for his first semester of college.  I was thrilled to see a book by Solzhenitsyn on his list.  School shopping has started.

Saturday Night: Saturday was a high pain day for me, but my family kept me comfortable and company watching DVDs to help keep my mind off the pain.  I was just grateful to be with my guys for the entire day and evening.  We had a Miss Marple (Joan Hickson) marathon.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 7 books.   If you have time, please take a look at the reviews, one never knows when they will find a treasure.

Today I will be reading: The Beginners by Rebecca Wolff (yes, I am still trying to get a chance to read this book.)

Happy Reading and have a wonderful Sunday.

Life:  My blog is back, new and improved! :)   The previous week was a nightmare and I have three exceptional women to thank for getting me back up and running.  I was unable to get as many reviews as I had hoped to up, but my blog and the security of my blog took precedent.

Family Update:  My family is fantastic!  We are all well and we are enjoy the few weeks we have left together before the oldest heads off to college (6 weeks away, not that I am counting).

Saturday Night: After all that has happened I really needed a break so we did nothing but watch DVDs and play games.  It was too nasty to be outside and my guys were thinking a lazy day sounded perfect.  It was delightful!

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read  6 books but only reviewed 5 books as the fifth book was not to my liking.   If you have time, please take a look at the reviews.

Life: I cannot believe June is almost over, where did it go and why do I not feel relieved? This past week has been a roller-coaster ride (I do not care for roller-coasters).  Father’s Day was delightful and relaxing then I was unfortunately in significant pain for a large portion of the week.  Things began looking up when my son managed to secure a campus job (thank goodness) and then I learned a dear friend’s father passed away rather unexpectedly and my heart broke for her and her family.  The week concluded with family time.  Life really is too short.

Family Update: My family is doing well, my husband’s promotion is official and our oldest secured a campus job, which he will begin the week after he moves into his dorm.  The twins are well, the cat is content and I could not ask for more out of life.

Saturday Night: After a week of pain and  we held a delayed celebration of my husband’s promotion and our oldest son obtaining a college job.  After our BBQ feast we watched DVDs, we were all in the mood for a long movie marathon, movie junk food included.

Read and Reviewed: This past week I read and reviewed 6 books, if you have time do take a look.  Limiting my reading worked well this past week and is a trend I plan to follow during this hectic summer.

Today I will be reading: Down from Cascom Mountain by Ann Joslin Williams
