out of the entire month where I have absolutely nothing that must be accomplished so my family and I are…

This Is My One Day…
On This Sunny Saturday
Today is the day!
An Idea Is Brewing…
A little known fact about me, I think best at night. My brain really does not wake up until the evening, which is when this idea began brewing in my head and I got to thinking about time. I remember when time appeared to crawl and now it is soaring past me at an alarming rate. Most of my readers are aware that my sons are nearing the time when they will be leaving the nest (and I am not ready!). While I have not taken my family for granted (thankfully!) over the years I have become increasingly aware of time or lack thereof with my sons. We had a family discussion and as their schedules permit we decided to make Friday and Saturday nights game and movie nights (until track and the spring musical interfere).
What this means to those looking for my Saturday review(s) is that the review(s) will, for the time being, be hit or miss. I shall continue to plan to review a book or two on Saturday, but (this is where the new me steps in) I will no longer stress about getting a Saturday review up. As much as I adore reading and sharing my bookish find with my readers, I love my family far more and if they are willing to spend time with me (it is lovely that being with one’s parents is “cool” again) then I shall take every moment given to me. I may manage to post a review later in the day or possibly not (the new me is not worried or stressed), but right now it is Friday night as I type this and my only clear thought is of a fun night ahead with my family and sleeping indulgently late into the morning and enjoying the time I am allotted with my guys.
May each and every one of you do at least one relaxing thing today and take time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Happy Saturday! I shall be enjoying my family and of course…
There Is A Time To Plan and A Time To Toss Plans Out
Almost a week ago my plan was to have a few reviews up today, yet I am more laid back now (it is something new I am trying) and my reviews are not ready and I am okay with that. The first in a string of unexpected events, the main book is taking longer then I thought, but the book is worth it. For another, I had no way of knowing my computer would cease working Thursday afternoon necessitating the need to purchase a new computer, transfer all files, etc., over to my new computer and considering I am not in the least bit tech savvy (I am still amazed I have a blog) the transfer proved stressful and unbelievably long. Friday was spent catching up with all I failed to do late Thursday and then I had errands and an appointment resulting in a very late dinner. Finally (and most importantly) my sons surprised me and chose to stay home and wanted to watch movies with DH and me (score!) so I did not finish Endgame as I had planned, thus no review. Maybe later in the day the review will go up, possibly not until tomorrow or next week, it all depends on my family.
May everyone have a wonderful and relaxing Saturday.
I Had Planned To Post A Review….
…then decided Friday afternoon was the perfect time for going out to bookstores (three to be exact) with my family and once out we stayed out too late for me to read and write a proper review. I had a brilliant time and yes, many books were purchased. When we realised it is only two weeks before Christmas we quickly decided that we would spend the day together goofing off, wrapping presents and possibly attempting to bake, although I am nothing short of a disaster in the kitchen.

I Had The Best Of Intentions
My review of Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine was going to go live at midnight, that was my plan until I realised the guys had the day off! We slept in, goofed around and then our oldest child remembered he needed a purple shirt for his cabaret performance. We were rather impressed, he usually recalls these types of details mere moments before needing to dress, so having about 24 hours of advance noticed was thrilling. Sadly it meant we had to go shopping (which I absolutely, positively detest). However, now that my children are much older they are great fun to go clothing shopping with. We had probably more fun than necessary mocking some of the “new trends” in clothing. Thankfully they are just trends. The twins have to take the PSAT in the morning, so we decided to make it an early night of it with popcorn and movies.
Which is an exceedingly long way to say, I have not quite finished Lady of Hay by Barbara Erskine and I am fine with the change in plans and enjoyed…
