Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
“Beneath the surface of any problem, if you scrabble a bit, you’ll find a secret. It may take a while-decades perhaps-not for your excavation, mind you, but for your desire to appear; for that childlike curiosity to float up again.”

Ooh, I love this. Looks like an intriguing read!
Me too. I thought the opening lines were wonderful.
This is very well-written. And that’s on page 1? That would get me to keep reading. I’ve never heard of this book before, but it sounds right up my alley. I love things so well-worded they make you think. Thanks for the tease!
Those are the first two sentences of the book.
Sounds like an energetic start!
It does!
It’s a beautiful line, I like the way the author wrote the sentences, it sounds like poetry.
I thought it was an excellent beginning.

I would think so, it will be interesting to find out.
Hello Jennifer,
This sounds like a fantastic book, even though I did cheat a little and search out the synopsis.
It’s potentially so true to life, as well. My mother-in-law has been researching her family tree for some years now and has turned up some pretty awesome facts.
One of her relatives, who she always referred to as ‘uncle’, turns out in fact to be another brother, who was always brought up to believe that his mother was in fact his sister!
On eof my father-in-laws ancestors, was hung for treason, after attempting to blow up parliament.
They say that we all have skeletons in our cupboard, don’t they?
I must read this book, thanks for sharing.
Yes, I think all families have secrets. I look forward to reading the book.
How interesting. This sounds like a book I’d pick up at the library. Cute cover. First couple of sentences interesting.
