How Embarrassing

****Time is almost up! Please check out my Bazil Essentials Giveaway and my Twisted Silver Giveaway!****

I suppose it is time to get the embarrassment over. What embarrassment you wonder? I was tagged by three people on the same day, all requesting I post my 6th photo from the 6th folder in my photo archives, which in and of itself does not sound bad, wait for it.
I have been tagged by Kari of A Giveaway Addicted Mommy, Barbara of Bargains and Blessings, and Sarah of My Charmed Life.

Normally this is a fun game. I have seen fabulous photos from various countries, families, and cute children. Sadly, I figured my photo would not fall into any of those categories. I was correct. Without further ado, my photo:

I have no idea why I took a photograph of Norwegian chocolate bars. However, should anyone want to send me a gift, those are my three favourite chocolate bars.

If anyone would like to play along, please do and let me know in my comments so I can come and visit your photo and leave a comment. If you feel generous, link back to me, as I love spreading linky love.

Focus Friday-Week Four

****Please check out my Bazil Essentials Giveaway and my Twisted Silver Giveaway!****

Ellen at Thrifty & Chic Mom has come up with Focus Friday, where we choose one thing we focus on for that week.

Focus Friday

Well I FLUNKED! Last week I proposed to accomplish this and I did not achieve any of it. Being ill plus snow days equaled me getting nothing accomplished. So I am going to try and get it accomplished during this next week. If and when it gets done, yes, I will take photos.

If you need to focus on specific areas in your life, head over to Thrifty & Chic Momand join in on Focus Friday

Aloha Friday #5

Whoot! It is Friday! This past week we had 2 snow days and two delayed starts. I am ready for the weekend.

My question for today is: What are your all time favourite movies to watch over and over again?

I was visiting Jess at Nothing But Purple and decide to play along. I let my twins answer the questions for me. It was interesting to hear how my 14 year old twins see me.

Do Not Check Email While On This Medication

****Please check out my Bazil Essentials Giveaway and my Twisted Silver Giveaway!****

Medications should come with the warning: do not check email while on this medication. At least mine should.

I have not had the best of days today, yet that is not exactly what I am writing about. I am hoping one of you fabulous bloggers out there can give me some advise. I apparently deleted an extremely important email and I need it back. I believe these things stay on the computer’s hard drive? Internal Drive? Somewhere?

If anyone has some idea of what I am talking about please send me a message. I really need to retrieve this email. Note to self: do not get online while heavily medicated.

Many thanks in advance! Also, I want to thank those of you who left kind comments for my husband. My darling husband pretends to not like blogging, yet wants to know if anyone comments. *sigh* (he will check when he gets home) and the get well wishes for me.

Writer’s Workshop DH Style

****Please check out my Bazil Essentials Giveaway and my Twisted Silver Giveaway!****

The Prompts:
1.) Tell us about a stray animal you took in.
2.) Write a poem for your favorite teacher of all time.
3.) Describe someone in your life you wish you saw more of.
4.) Write a letter to someone who bothered you this week.

I am guest blogging for my wife because she has been struck with yet another
migraine. Please accept my apologies for the brevity, but I’m working on an
important research proposal that is due on Friday. I chose to respond to
the two specific questions because frankly my responses to the other two
would be either embarrassing or inappropriate for public consumption.

The one and only stray my wife and I took in was a kitten that we found on a
rainy night in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on our way home to Minnesota.
The kitten had ear mites which we began treating while on the trip home. We
were still living with my parents at the time, so imagine their surprise
when we arrived home with a new addition to the house (including the ear
mites)! The kitten eventually fell in love with my parents and she ended up
living with them for good.

I have a scientific colleague/friend that I have known since 1997 and he has
left a lasting mark on my wife and me. He used to stop by our home, just
around the kids’ bedtime, and we would then proceed to stay up very late
playing dominos, drinking wine, and talking about anything that was on our
minds. I only worked directly with him for one year, but we have kept in
touch and collaborated occasionally ever since. I see him perhaps every 3
years when we happen to attend the same conference, but due to our
geographic separation (he lives in Germany), it would be far too expensive
for my wife and me to visit him there. There is a meeting in Switzerland
this year where I could meet up with him once again (last time was 2005),
but that just does not seem to be very likely to happen. Although
maintaining e-mail contact permits us to work on similar projects, there is
still no replacement for meeting in person. He is probably my closest friend
nevertheless and I hope to again have a chance to visit with him in the near
future.

Wordful Wednesday

****Please check out my Bazil Essentials Giveaway and my Twisted Silver Giveaway!****

Once again it is time for Wordful Wednesday!
The twins are working on their respective science Day Projects.

Twin B has 6 flowers he is growing. Some receive “grey water” the other half regular water. He measure daily and jots down any changes. I believe he is hoping to prove that plants can thrive on “grey water”, eliminating the need to use potable water.

Twin A on the other hand is testing the affect of different types of soil on the pH of water contained therein.

First Soil is needed.

Of course a pH meter is required.

Testing solutions

I would like to mention that at one time, that used to be my dining room table.
